BARBARA ZAVODNIK

 

Barbara was born in Setptember 1975 in Lubiana (Slovenia), where she lives and works.

She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Lubiana in 2000 under the guide of professors Stane Bernik and Marijan Gnamus.

In 2003 she attained her diploma in the post degree graphics course under the guidance of professor Branko Suhy.

In 2001 she won the first prize for best portrait of the Slovenian actress Ita Rina, chosen at a contest aimed at the students of the Academy of Fine Arts.

She participated in the International “Percorsi dell’Incisione contemporanea” Exhibition that was held in Urbino after having followed an engraving course at the “KAUS” centre.

She has taken part in various collective exhibitions in Slovenia, India, Hungary, Canada, Spain and Italy.

She has also prepared two personal exhibitions:

2002 – “Grafike, slike”, Reseda Gallery, Domzale

2003 – “Kjer sem in me ni”, graphic exhibition at the end of the post degree graphics course, KUD Gallery, France Preseren

She is an artist of many fields, and, in addition to graphics, follows artistic discipline. Since 2002 she has been a member of the “Slovenian artists union” (ZDSLU).
